How do I create custom fields?

In order to prepare your guests' stay as well as possible, sometimes more information is needed than just contact details. The latter is requested as standard in the reservation form.

In addition, any number of custom fields can be added internally, for example to record the number of vegetarians, allergies or similar. In order to also offer custom fields in the form for online bookings, you must first activate this option (see below). Without this activation, guests will not see the field during the online booking process.

You can add custom fields for both bookings and contacts.

Adding a custom field

Go to Account settings and select Create or update custom fields.

Here, click Add a new field.

Now you can now enter the name of the field, such as “Allergies”, “Number of vegetarians” etc. Then select whether the new field should be created for contacts or bookings. If you select “bookings”, you will see the field in every booking and can enter the relevant information.

Once you have decided on “contacts” or “bookings”, you determine what should be requested: A number, a date or a text? You can also define your own value.

If you have opted for "bookings", select the room(s) for which the information is to be entered and save the field. It will now be displayed in the create booking mask:

If you have opted for "contacts", the field will appear at the end of the contact form:

Custom field available in the online booking form for the guest

So that your guests can also see the field and of course fill it in, you must activate it for the online booking form. This involves two steps and is a chargeable extension (€4.99 per month). The first step is to go to Up- or downgrade your plan in the account settings. There you will find the option to book individual fields under your package:

In the second step, go to Create or update online forms in the account settings and click on edit form behind your previously created form.

You can activate the new field for each room individually by ticking the relevant box. For example, if you want to request the number of vegetarians for reservations in the guest room.

After you have clicked Save form, guests will be asked for the new information when booking online:
