How do I enable my guests to make online reservations?

In order to allow guests to make bookings online, you need to create an online form. You can, but do not have to, integrate it into your website. We create a link for each online form that you can simply refer to.

1. Create a new online form

To be able to accept bookings online, go to the Account settings in the top right-hand corner of your CentralPlanner account.

Then select Create or update online forms to create a new online form.

2. Automatic or manual seat allocations

To set up your online form, first give it a name, e.g. “O'Leary's Pub”. Below this you have the choice between automatic and manual seat allocation.

Automatic allocation and confirmation

With automatic allocation, CentralPlanner automatically assigns the tables to the bookings and sends an email confirmation to the guest. The only exceptions are guests who have already made a reservation in the past but did not show up and were marked with the no-show tag in their account. These require manual confirmation even with automatic allocation.

Manual allocation

If you choose manual allocation, you allocate the tables to the guests yourself. In this case, you will receive a booking request and the guests will only receive a confirmation when you accept the booking.

3. Which areas to activate for online bookings?

In the next step, you can select which areas of your establishment should be activated for online bookings. You have already defined which tables are available for this in the table management.

4. Your CentralPlanner reservation page

Finally, you have the option of writing a welcome text for your CentralPlanner booking page. If you want to integrate the form on your own website, you do not need the welcome text. This is what the form could look like if you simply refer your guests to the link provided. The view is optimized for normal computers as well as for tablets and smartphones.

You can include the link to your reservation form on your website and use it to refer to the reservation page or you can integrate the code snippet directly into your website. In this case, your guest does not have to leave your site and can make a reservation directly on your website.

5. customization of the integrated reservation form

If you would like to integrate the code snippet provided by us, copy the complete code and insert it at the desired position in the source code of your website. To adjust the size of the iframe, you can change the height and width. Please select a width of at least 350 pixels so that your guest does not have to scroll horizontally when making a reservation.

You can change the description or heading in the online booking form at any time by going to the online forms page as described above and editing the relevant form.
